BRENDA RICHARDSON

DIRECTOR, SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Brenda has worked in entrepreneurship, micro-credit, and social enterprise for over 20 years and has been involved with CISED since its creation in 2009.   In her past role as Director of Business Development at Causeway Work Centre, she worked closely with the four social enterprises under Causeway's umbrella helping them to grow in scale and impact.  Brenda has a MBA specializing in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University and a Graduate Diploma in Social Innovation from the University of Waterloo. She is passionate about social enterprise and its role as a catalyst and conduit for community well-being and social democracy.

KATHLEEN KEMP

DIRECTOR, SOCIAL ENTERPRISE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Kathleen joins CISED after graduating from the Telfer School of Management with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in management, where she dedicated the majority of her university career to growing the social entrepreneurship culture in the Ottawa area. Her work over the past 4 years with social enterprises mainly stems from her leadership role as the President of the University of Ottawa Enactus team, where she was paramount in starting, growing and sustaining several social enterprises. One of her most notable accomplishments was the success of her own business, CigBins, which she co-founded to provide meaningful job opportunities to individuals with mental illness and eliminate cigarette butts off of city streets.  Kathleen’s dedication to social enterprise continues to thrive through her work as the Director of Social Enterprise Business Development with CISED.

REBECCA KLAASSEN
